Hello,
Welcome to my diary of my art and of my life. I hope that you won't be bored and leave but maybe find something interesting and stick around.
I am an older woman by age but my brain hasn't caught up to that fact quite yet. I am overweight and my hair is turning grey, which I don't mind. I look forward to having beautiful grey and white hair like my mom and brother. I also look forward to coloring my grey and white hair pretty colors like a parrot. LOL It is fine and fragile so doing so now would just make it break off. So I will wait.
I still work full time at a job I love 98% of the time, but I am looking forward to retiring and like so many others am hoping that I can still afford to have a roof over my head and food to eat. I would love to make a living creating and selling art but I know that that can be hard to do. So instead I will share what I love to do.
I believe that I must have ADD so I have a hard time sticking to just a few things. I will start in on something and then "SQUIRREL" I get distracted by something else. But, I am sure that I am not alone in that. LOL
Mainly I focus on textile arts of all kinds but I also dabble with painting, cement art, sculpture, embroidery and my pets. I have two cats, a dog and goldfish in an outdoor pond. I can highly attest to the fact that once you start a pond, you want to continuously go bigger. I started with a 9 gallon and have now moved up to 125 gallons. Next, I would like to go to a 300 gallon but it won't fit in my car. I have 6 goldfish in it right now. Five red comets that started their lives as feeder fish and one shubunkin. If I get a bigger pond then I will get more shubunkins. They look like miniature Koi but are of the goldfish family. I will post photos and videos of all of them since they are a big part of my life and who I am. I also love plants and work on my yard and with the pond, finding plants that grow in the water. I have a love/hate relationship with squirrels and am constantly trying to keep them out of the bird seed.
I hope you enjoy my journeys!!
Donna
